Edgewater and Polycom Team To Simplify VoIP Deployment

- Solution optimization automates setup, reducing deployment costs and enabling customers to rapidly deploy VoIP services

(NASDAQ: PLCM), the world’s leader in video and voice conferencing, conference bridges, and integrated web collaboration solutions, today announced the availability of a “Plug ‘n Dial” feature set that dramatically simplifies the provisioning of Polycom’s family of SoundPoint™ IP phones when deployed with any Edgewater EdgeMarc Series appliance. This capability reduces costs and enables channel partners, service providers and enterprise customers to rapidly deploy VoIP services.

Using industry standard protocols, the joint solution enables a user to simply connect a SoundPoint IP phone in an MGCP environment to a LAN segment attached to an EdgeMarc appliance and receive all of the necessary parameters for voice connectivity. This functionality delivers all of the power of VoIP with the ease of use found in traditional analog phone sets.
