Aastra Telecom Joins Edgewater Networks’ Plug & Dial Alliance Program

Aastra joins the growing list of service providers and vendors working together to simplify the set-up, security and monitoring of VoIP services

Santa Clara, California – March 19, 2007 – Edgewater Networks, Inc. and Aastra Telecom announced today that Aastra has joined Edgewater Network’s Plug & Dial Alliance. Aastra’s IP telephones have been certified interoperable with the Edgewater Networks Plug & Dial solution. The Plug & Dial Alliance uses Edgewater Networks’ EdgeMarc routers and the EdgeView VoIP Support System to turn the multi-step and error-prone process of IP phone setup into an automated, simplified installation experience that reduces costs for service providers.

The Plug & Dial Alliance program provides interoperability testing for multi-vendor VoIP networking environments and automated setup of many leading brands of SIP-based IP phones. Service providers use Edgewater Networks’ Plug & Dial solution to significantly shorten hosted VoIP installation times and simplify ongoing moves, adds and changes. The solution uses intuitive voice prompts provided to the end-user so that they can “self provision” and completely eliminates pre-staging or manual configuration of IP phones. The solution also provides notification to existing OSS or billing systems at the completion of the automated IP phone configuration. The level of automation provided by the Plug & Dial solution reduces installation times from hours to minutes.
