Edgewater Networks, Inc. Expands Plug & Dial Alliance Program To Include SIP Trunking Applications

Santa Clara, California – May 21, 2007 – Edgewater Networks, Inc. announced today that it is expanding its Plug & Dial Alliance program to include interoperability testing and certification between leading PBX manufacturers and SIP trunking service providers. The adoption of SIP trunking services by enterprise customers has been hampered due to interoperability problems among technology companies and providers. Through interoperability testing and certification with EdgeMarc routers and the EdgeView VoIP Support System the Plug & Dial Alliance program will bring technology partners and providers together to simplify the deployment of SIP trunking services.

"Despite the increased popularity of SIP trunking services among enterprise customers significant challenges remain in connecting both TDM and IP PBX systems to IP-based PSTN origination and termination services,” said Dave Norman, Chief Executive Office of Edgewater Networks, Inc. “The Edgewater Networks product solution in combination with the Plug & Dial certification activities will reduce overall costs for our service provider customers, save our PBX partners valuable development resources and enable enterprises to take better advantage of these services.”

The Edgewater Networks Product Solution
EdgeMarc routers are deployed at the enterprise and provide many critical functions for delivering business class SIP trunking services including protocol fixup to ensure interoperability between PBX trunk interfaces and the service provider gateway infrastructure. EdgeMarc routers also act as the demarcation point for the SIP trunking service by providing a VoIP aware NAT/Firewall, call admission control, passive call quality monitoring and QoS for high quality voice. The EdgeView VoIP Support System is used as a VoIP troubleshooting tool and provides proactive call quality monitoring and reporting.
