David G. Norman

Chief Executive Officer

David G. Norman has 25 years experience in marketing and sales with high technology companies. Prior to founding Edgewater Networks, Mr. Norman worked as an independent consultant and private investor to technology start-ups. He created and implemented First Virtual Communications international strategy where he built the company’s international presence in Asia, Europe and Latin America through a highly leveraged virtual corporation model. He left FVC after a successful initial public offering. Prior to FVC, Mr. Norman was Director of Sales for the Western U.S. and Japan for Cornerstone Imaging, a document-imaging company. He left Cornerstone for FVC after Cornerstone’s successful IPO. Mr. Norman was founder of Businessland Japan, a Tokyo-based network integration company. Businessland Japan was a joint venture between Businessland, Inc., Softbank Corp., Fujitsu, Toshiba, Canon and Sony. Mr. Norman holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University California Santa Barbara where he also studied Japanese.

Steve Pattison

Chief Operating Officer

Steve Pattison brings to Edgewater Networks more than two decades of leadership experience in the high tech and services industries spanning executive positions in business and corporate development, marketing, product management, professional services and sales. He currently serves as Edgewater Networks’ Chief Operating Officer, responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company, overseeing all core operational functions, and managing 3rd party business and corporate development relationships. Prior to joining Edgewater Networks, Mr. Pattison was the Vice President of Business Development at Polycom, responsible for all 3rd party Technology Partnerships and Industry Solutions Development and Marketing activities at the company. Prior to Polycom, Pattison held executive positions at Accordent Technologies, Interwoven, Documentum and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.  Pattison holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a B.S. from the University of Minnesota in MIS and Marketing.

John Macario

Senior Vice President, Marketing and Strategy

John Macario is a 20 year industry veteran, currently serving as Edgewater Networks’ Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategy. Prior to joining Edgewater, Mr. Macario was President of Savatar, a consulting and research firm focused on helping clients bring innovative VoIP communications solutions to market. Under Mr. Macario’s leadership, Savatar grew to be widely regarded as an industry vanguard in the business community for IP Communications. Prior to founding Savatar, Mr. Macario held senior positions with Digitas, a Boston-based direct marketing company where he worked on numerous projects in the telecommunications industry. He has worked as a technical architect and brand manager for multinational corporations and has consulted to the Governments of Canada, Ireland and Scotland on a broad range of technical and marketing issues. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Science degree in physics from Dartmouth College.

Rumus Sakya

Senior Vice President, Engineering

Rumus Sakya has over 20 years of engineering experience developing enterprise and consumer class networking appliances and platforms. At Edgewater Networks, he is responsible for development, SQA and platform operations. Mr. Sakya leads all aspects of engineering development of physical and virtual Enterprise Session Border Controllers (ESBC) and NOC-based management platform securely delivering enterprise class reliable voice, video, data services, and Unified Communications (UC) applications. He also leads development of as-a-service cloud platform targeted for operators to deliver multitude of managed services, dynamic policy enforcement, traffic management, content delivery and analytics utilizing scalable Software Defined Networking (SDN) and flexible Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) technologies. Before joining Edgewater Networks, Mr. Sakya was Engineering Director of Business Solutions Division at Efficient Networks (a Siemens company) and led development of business broadband routers, security and IAD appliances. Mr. Sakya holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Russell Johnson

Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Russell Johnson brings nearly 20 years of executive leadership experience to Edgewater Networks. He currently serves as Sr. VP of Worldwide Sales, responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that achieve company objectives, and is responsible for developing strategic sales plans that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization. Before joining Edgewater Networks, Mr. Johnson served as Chief Revenue Officer for Clear Capital and Nexsan, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, and customer support resources globally. In addition, he has also held executive positions at Barracuda Networks, E2V Aerospace and Defense, Applied Micro Circuits Corporation, and Adaptec. In fact, Mr. Johnson has participated in successful exits via acquisition including 3ware, Connected Data, Action+, and the successful IPO of Barracuda Networks. In addition, Mr. Johnson served in the US Navy as a deep sea diver.

Jennifer Kidd

Vice President, Business Development

Jennifer Kidd is the VP of Business Development at Edgewater Networks and brings 13 years of experience in the high tech industry with a strong background in product and program management. Before her career at Edgewater Networks, Ms. Kidd managed 3rd party Technology Partnerships and built a Product Management team from the ground up at N2 Publishing. Prior to her role at N2 Publishing, she was responsible for Vertical Solutions Product Management at Polycom where she worked with 3rd party Technology Partners to provide UC solutions for vertical markets. Ms. Kidd began her career at National Instruments where she spent over seven years in multiple roles from Engineering to Product Marketing. Ms. Kidd holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University.

Chris Kolstad

Vice President, Product Management

Chris brings with him over 28 years of telephony, video and networking product experience. He currently serves as VP of Product Management, responsible for driving product definition and process to a cloud-based analytics focus. Prior to his role as VP of Product Management at Edgewater Networks, Mr. Kolstad was the Director of Product Management, Infrastructure at Polycom, where he was responsible for their Unified Collaboration solutions product line. Prior to that, Chris spent 15 years at Cisco (through the acquisition of Stratacom) in a variety of capacities including Product Manager, Technical Marketing Engineer, and Senior Test Manager for the MGX, GSR and CRS product lines. He began his career as a Manufacturing/Automation Engineer and Hardware Design Engineer at Octel Communications.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Jason Luehrs

Vice President, Finance

Jason Luehrs brings nearly 15 years of financial experience to Edgewater Networks. As VP of Finance, Mr. Luehrs oversees Edgewater Networks’ strategic and financial planning initiatives. Prior to joining Edgewater Networks, Mr. Luehrs was the corporate controller at YapStone. He has also held positions at FanFare and KPMG. Mr. Luehrs holds a B.S. in Accounting from California State University, Fresno.

  • Chairman
    David A. Norman is a private investor in high technology companies and a director of several private high technology companies. He served as Chairman and director of NetRatings, Inc. from November 1997 to April 2002. Mr. Norman was the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Businessland, Inc., a computer reseller that grew in six years to over $1 billion in revenues. Computer Retail News named him as one of the industry’s top executives for eight consecutive years. Mr. Norman also founded Dataquest, a high technology market research company that was acquired by A.C. Nielsen where Mr. Norman was a Director for a number of years. Mr. Norman was a Naval carrier pilot. He holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

    Tom Peterson is a General Partner with El Dorado Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm. Tom has been with El Dorado Ventures since 1986. He focuses on early-stage investments in software, service and communications companies. Tom joined El Dorado in 1986 from Union Venture Corp., the venture capital arm of Union Bank of California, where he was an Investment Officer. Prior to joining Union Venture, Tom held engineering and management positions with Hewlett-Packard and General Electric. Tom received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

    Amanda Reed joined Palomar Ventures in 2001 after a 15 year career of leadership in sales, marketing, and business development in a series of successful start-up companies. With the operating experience of two IPOs and two company acquisitions in excess of $100M, Amanda brings extensive early-stage operations talent and insight to her work with emerging technology companies such as Edgewater Networks. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Dartmouth College.  Palomar Ventures is an early-stage venture capital fund currently investing more than $500M in information technology companies. Palomar has offices in Irvine, Palo Alto, and Santa Monica, California and is active throughout California and the western United States.

  • Former President, CEO and founder of NetRatings, Inc. He led NetRatings to its position as the leading provider of Internet audience information and analysis. As President and CEO, David formed strategic partnerships with Nielsen Media Research and ACNielsen. Together, the three companies developed Nielsen/NetRatings, the leading global Internet Audience Measurement service with deployments in 29 countries throughout the world. Prior to forming NetRatings, David was a Vice President at Hitachi Computer Products where he led the Network Products Group and was responsible for the development, sales and marketing of numerous hardware and software products. Former affiliations include Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Interlink Computer Sciences and PPG Industries. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at TubeMogul, SkyTree Corporation, and GutCheckIt.com. He was formerly a Director at NexTag (acquired by Providence Equity Partners.) David holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
